If you drove around Ontario looking for wind turbines, do you know how many you would find? Over 2600! Ontario generates the most wind power of any province or territory. The province also ranks fifth in the country for the potential to generate solar power. However, the power generation that Ontario is most abundant in, is nuclear. Ontario is home to three of the four nuclear generating facilities in Canada and they provide about 60% of the province’s total electricity generation. The largest utility in Ontario is Ontario Power Generation, which is responsible for about half of the electricity generation.
